Essential Functions:Install and upgrade systems following established procedures and guidelines.Develop and implement configuration changes on equipment types listed above.Troubleshoot, identify and solve technical terface with network service providers and equipment vendors to ensure timely problem resolution.Monitor and manage network availability, capacity, and performance.Maintain network documentation.Assist with network planning, architecture design and engineering.Evaluate new products and make recommendations to improve efficiencies.Mentor junior staff members.Other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skill:Demonstrated ability to support IP:based networks and solve complex network problems as they relate to multiple business applications and voice:over:IP.Working knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 protocols, especially OSPF and BGP.Ability to design and implement structured cabling solutions in data centers and corporate back:offices.Enterprise:side knowledge of MPLS, T1/T3 and working: TCP/IP, SNMP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, DNS, DHCP, QOS, STP, VLAN, VPN, VoIP.Data Network Hardware: Cisco routers, switches and firewalls; Cisco ACS; Barracuda SSL VPN; HP Procurve switches; Aruba wireless systems; F5 load balancers.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational skills.Excellent time management and project planning skills.Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written.Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CISSP, certification preferred.Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.Must be able to work in a 24 hour on:call capacity.Three to five years experience supporting enterprise voice/data networks is preferred.
