The Front:End Developer will be responsible for conceptualizing interfaces, turning whiteboard sketches into working prototypes, and transforming design mockups into user interfaces. This position will design and code for various web:based applications and create code that will integrate seamlessly with other technologies to achieve business goals. Key Accountabilities:Create and maintain The ChildrenA?s Place website, updating site content inside IBM WebSphere Ecommerce Content Management SystemCreate engaging, usable, and effective technical solutions that work to achieve business goalsDesign and code themes, layouts, and custom designs for various web:based applications Optimize performance of front:end applications, managing JS, JQuery, HTML/HTML5, and CSS file structures within application to optimize page:load performance and code maintainability Emulate existing HTML schemes and create new ones that will integrate well with existing code Integrate created code with other technologies, including web services, java back:end systems, content management systems, etc. Develop code that upholds web standards, accessibility, and usability while also being fast and efficient Stay current on the latest in front:end development practices and technology (HTML5, CSS3, responsive web design, etc.) Collaborate with backend developers and creative designers to create new site features as needed and to troubleshoot and solve problemsEducation and Experience:Bachelors degree or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience with, and exemplary knowledge of, HTML/CSS Experience with IBM WebSphere CMC tool a plusExperience developing and troubleshooting cross:browser and device solutions Experience with writing native JavaScript as well as libraries (jQuery) Skills and Behaviors:Familiarity with best in class web and mobile development practicesKnowledge of SharePoint design and development a plus Knowledge of current browsers, their behaviors, differences, and compatibility issues and how to code for them to create a seamless front end user experience Knowledge of web image optimization and compression Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate in technical and non:technical terms with cross:functional partners Must be able to manage relationships with cross:functional partnersStrong attention to detail to keep sites as error:free as possible
