The Database Administrator will be responsible for administering, installing, and maintaining the organizationA?s new and existing databases in order to improve the computer systems. This position will implement any changes to the database systems and applications and provide support and service to resolve technical issues. This position will support DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and Netezza database environments that support the enterprise applications, including Lawson Financial, SAP, Sharepoint, BI, and web based merchandising applications. Key Accountabilities:Perform installations, administration, maintenance, performance monitoring, tuning activities, disaster recovery planning, documentation, and testing of database Implement changes to the database systems and applicationsAssist with the establishment of standards and best practices for database design Ensure the capability of the database to respond to new and changing environments Ensure the databases are highly secure Research and recommend potential new database technologies Specify user access level and specify which users can access databases and what data can be accessed Evaluate business and technical requirements and develop optimal solutions to address needs Provide off:peak hours support as needed to support product enhancements and technical issuesMonitor database performance for available memory Train users as needed Education and Experience:BachelorA?s degree in computer science or related field 3:5 years of experience supporting enterprise database systemsRetail industry experience preferred Experience with SQL Server is a plus Skills and Behaviors:Must have knowledge of scripting languages Strong interpersonal skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to work independently against multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
